Traffic and Parking is becoming a nightmare in many suburban areas of Melbourne!
All 'traffic-analyses' around proposed high-density developments fail miserably... no 'cumulative effects' of nearby developments seem to be considered... let alone the cumulative pressure on public transport!
"Activity Centre" planning and associated high-density development is increasingly putting pressure on all suburban traffic, parking and infrastructure. This pressure from government-orchestrated population increase, is increasingly appearing around train stations, shopping zones and even previously quiet suburban streets.
Councils also need to be our DEDICATED ADVOCATES to protect our suburbs from 'planning' imposed from higher levels of government.
Councils need to LISTEN to their communities... STOP high-density planning, and be STRONG ADVOCATES for us, to preserve the character of our suburbs!
